One of my favorite parts of my job is meeting new people. And it’s even better when the people you meet, love what they do. I recently spent time with Brian York, tasting room manager at Roblar Winery, as he gave Megan and me an estate tour of their vineyard.

This event gives wine and food lovers the opportunity to mix and mingle with others of like passion. With the purchase of a ticket you are presented with a logo glass and then set free to wander down isles of local wineries interspersed with local restaurants, all sampling their wares.

I am happy to report that there are still a few tickets available for the first Wine Around event! Santa Ynez Valley Visitors Association has been working diligently with us here at Chumash, and with three local wineries to put together the finishing touches on what promises to be a wonderful two-day wine celebration.

Today I went out to Clos Pepe Estate (pronounced “Cloh Peppy”) for a private tour and wine tasting with Wes Hagen, the property manager and Wine Maker. For lack of a better way to describe my experience, I feel like I just spent two hours in the kitchen of one of my closest friends.
